Improving Training Effectiveness in Organizations-Free-Samples
Question: Discuss about the Training and Development. Answer: Introduction Disruptions in the technological usage have adversely affected the punctuality of the customers regarding reaching to the workplace. Viewing it from other perspective, this lack of adequate knowledge in technology has compelled the taxi industry to encounter difficulties in efficient execution of the business activities. The outcome of these perspectives is the interplay with 5% of the taxi drivers in terms of their employment. Herein lays the appropriateness of the term idle fleets, as the drivers are reluctant towards catering to the commuters from midway (Todayonline.com, 2017). This reluctance reflects the adherence towards responding to the bookings done through mobile applications. However, the fame and glory of the mobiles have aggravated the discrepancies between the actual time of the bookings and the time when the drivers are receiving the bookings. These discrepancies, in turn, have projected noticeable differences between the mobile application booking and the street hail ing. The major drive behind these discrepancies is the absence of quality training in terms of technology usage (Todayonline.com, 2017). This assignment sheds light on the impact of technological disruption on the business of Comfort Transportation Ltd. VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous) is a world, where the companies and organizations struggle for altering the business scenario. The following is a detailed description of the four components. Volatility signifies the extent or rankings for the change. In view of the technological disruption of taxi industry, the ratings are very high. This is due to the complexities of the customers regarding a hassle free journey to their workplace and other places of recreation. This aggravation has adversely affected the affordability of the customers especially those belonging to the middle class (Khanna Kendall, 2015). Review of the training processes The objective of the taxi industry is to provide a comfortable ride to the passengers. In view of this objective, technological disruption acts as an obstacle in terms of fulfilling the needs, demands and requirements of the customers. The word disruption turns the comfort into discomfiture. Herein lays the importance of training, which possesses flexibility to alter the business scenario of the industry (Amara Atia, 2016). This is possible only if the employees make practical example of the provided lectures for carrying out the allocated tasks. As a matter of specification, formative assessment proves beneficial for the industry in terms of exposing a systematic approach towards overcoming the crisis phase. On the contrary, it is the duty of the managers to adopt appropriate means for assessing the performance of the employees. Within this, post training tests are an effective means for judging the performance of the staffs (Cummings Worley, 2014). The taxi drivers at comfort Transport Ltd are provided with training for preparing themselves for adjusting with the ongoing technological disruption. The drivers need to enroll themselves for the training, where they are provided with a license for receiving the training. Along with this, the drivers are eligible for renewing their license, provided they complete the PV15 NI application form from the official website of the industry. One of the major attractions is the e-learning course, which provides the opportunity to the drivers regarding the clarification of the doubts regarding the execution of business activities in an efficient manner. However, this e-leaning is applicable only for vocational courses (Pollock et al., 2015). Within the e-learning courses, the drivers are briefed about the ongoing business scenario and the new policies and schemes introduced for improving the current strategic position. Along with this, the drivers are enlightened by the managers on the basic management skills and the ways and means to resolve them. Apart from management skills, technology is one of the subjects, on which the drivers are trained for enhancing the productivity. The training is divided into several sessions, which enhances the grasping power of the drivers regarding the provided lectures. Partial drafts are sent to the higher authorities for making them aware about the training processes undertaken. This awareness helps in making estimations regarding the achievement of successful completion of the projects in hand. Apart from this, taking into consideration the means of survey questionnaire makes the industry personnel aware of the needs, demands and requirements of the employees. Inclusion of straight forward questions helps the managers to achieve positive outcomes. Consideration of the ethics is an agent for the managers in terms of preserving the individual sentiments of the employees. Therefore, presence of questions, which bears relationship with religion, caste and gender of the employees, is strictly prohibited for maintaining the order and harmony of the workplace environment (refer to Appendix 1). Provision of multiple options helps the employees to voice out their opinions regarding the proposed questions. Uploading the questionnaires on the official website systematizes the business activities of the industry. However, in view of the technological disruption, this step would not prove beneficial for the industry to bestow a proper development on the employees (Cummings Worley, 2014 ). Validity and reliability of the training methods In taxi industry, the staffs are provided training through the formative and summative training methods. Variety in the training methods helps the managers to assess the most appropriate training means for the staffs. As a matter of specification, the employees are provided coaching regarding the effective means of using the modern machines for carrying out the allocated tasks. The lectures are divided into various sessions for the convenience of the employees (Hendrick Kleiner, 2016). Within this, different experts are hired for delivering the lectures. Role plays makes the employees aware of the complexities, which the managers have to undergo for delivering the lectures. Increasing the frequency of these role plays enhances and affirms the stability in the relationship between the employees and the managers. This stability is a crucial component for resolving the ongoing crisis of technological disruption. The courses on decision-making and evaluation relate to the personality development of the drivers. The assignment is on the right track due to the word development. Enhancement of the decision-making skills of the employees results in the professional development of the employees. This professionalism, in turn, is assistance in terms of making the most from the talents produced by the employees (Amara Atia, 2016). Critically reflecting on the training courses, technical training proves beneficial for altering the predicament of the taxi industry. The major drive behind this is to revolutionize the business environment through effective and judicious use of technologies. Inspiring the drivers for collaborative output enhances the parameter of collectivism. This results in the preservation of the organizational culture, which brings Hofstedes cultural theory into the discussion. Delving deep into the aspect, bringing technological advancement into the business environment, with special adherence to the organizational values paves the way of foreign market penetration for the industry (Ivala, 2016). In view of the previous sentence, the aspect dimensions as proposed by Hofstede in his cultural theory is broadened. Recommendations and other investments needed In order to resolve the ongoing crisis, the industry needs strategic vision towards the execution of the business activities. Involvement of the stakeholders, shareholders and drivers in meetings and conferences would help the industry personnel to come up with beneficial decisions regarding the restoration of the hard earned glory and respect. Inclusion of evaluation within these processes would help the personnel to assess the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed plans in terms of the identified and specified requirements (Johnston Marshall, 2016). Regarding the individual needs of comfort Transport Ltd, the means of survey is crucial in terms of gaining in-depth insight into the needs, demands and requirements of the drivers. This insight would help in making estimations of financial resources and the time needed for solving the issue. Apart from this, post training tests need to be conducted for assessing the capability of the drivers regarding making practical usage of the learnt skills in the workplace operations. Most importantly, evaluation is to be conducted frequently for keeping a track of the undertaken steps and the performance of the contemporary brands. Spontaneity in modification of the drawbacks would enhance the personality of the company personnel. Rationality and consciousness towards the execution of the business activities would help in the achievement of large scale customer satisfaction (Ivala, 2016). Eagerness towards the preservation of loyalty, trust and dependence from the customers would omit the word disruption from the parameter of technology and add advancement. Thomas Cole Life, Paintings, And Views Essay Example For Students
Thomas Cole: Life, Paintings, And Views Essay Landscape painting was an extremely important time during the middle of the nineteenth century. One of the leading practitioners of landscape painters in America was Thomas Cole. He went to many places seeking the natural world in which he used direct observation to show his audience the untainted nature by man. His works helped to find goodness in American land and to help Americans take pride in their unique geological features created by god. Thomas Cole inspired many with his brilliant works by bringing satisfaction among the people who were trying to find the truth realism through the works of others. We will write a custom essay on Thomas Cole: Life, Paintings, And Views specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now Thomas Cole was born on February 1, 1801 in Bolton, Lancashire, England. Due to financial problems experienced by his family, at the age of fourteen Cole found work as a textile printer and wood engraver in Philadelphia. In 1819, Cole returned to Ohio where his parents resided. Here Cole learned the oil painting techniques of a portrait painter named Stein. During this time Cole was extremely impressed by what he saw in the landscapes of the New World and how different they were from the small town of England where he had come from. Art came to Cole naturally, he taught himself, and one day set out to observe nature and the wilderness. He began painting pictures by first making oil sketches of American rocks, trees, sunsets, plants, animals, as well as distant Indians. From these sketches he formed several paintings. He is famous for his allegorical collection called the The Course of Empire and is well-known for his Landscape paintings, The Oxbow, The Woodchopper, and The Clove, Catskills. In January of 1826, Cole was known for the being the founder of the National Academy of Design. During this time many people wanted Cole to paint pictures of American scenery for them, but his main goal, he says, was to create a higher style of landscape that could express moral or religious meanings. Cole continued to paint and in 1836 he married Maria Barstow and settled in Catskill, New York. Catskill was the place where he sketched a portrait of the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson River. From these paintings he influenced a lot of other artists such as Frederick Edwin Church along with Albert Bierstadt. Cole died on February 11, 1848 due to an illness and was remembered by many whom he helped to see the true vision of America. Thomas Cole led the first American school of Landscape, called the Hudson River School. This school included many leading artist such as Asher Brown Durand, Thomas Doughty, as well as the second generation of artists such as Frederick Edwin Church, Sanford Gifford, and Albert Bierstadt. These painters shared a common background. They were Romantic Realists who found great wonders in the countryside of the New World. They searched the Hudson Valley and areas of New England to find unique images of America. These realists combined detailed panoramic images with moralistic insights, which they obtained from famous works of literature of Emerson, Thoreau, Whitman, and Bryant. They saw the landscape as having a feeling of hopefulness, divinity, and harmony. This school was an important part of the American culture. Many neighboring countries had crushed America during the time of war and peace. Since that time, Americans yearned to see their nation survive. In his paintings, Cole seems to focus on an ideal America. He does this by painting vistas that mix both idealism and realism. He impressed several of his colleagues teaching them that a landscape painter must have strength, determination, and should be willing to conquer the hazards of the weather and terrain in order to achieve success. In 1825, an artist named John Trumball discovered Coles work in the window of a frame shop. Trumball purchased many of Coles paintings and this was brought to the attention of many critics who loved Coles style. The success of the Hudson River School led to the formation of the National Academy of Design. In the beginning of the 1800s, artists such as Thomas Cole painted pictures of the East and closer to the Hudson Valley. .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00 , .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00 .postImageUrl , .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00 , .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00:hover , .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00:visited , .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00:active { border:0!important; } .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00:active , .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00 .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u52f3dd42ac54289c520f1f99b705ec00:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Dylan Thomas The Life And Work EssayBy the 1850s artists began to travel further into the west and distant places such as the South American Tropical environments to capture a more spectacular American wilderness. The result of Coles first sketch on this trip up the Hudson River inspired a new generation of artists to follow his direction. The Course of the Empire, painted by Thomas Cole, was one of his famous allegorical works that dealt with the stages of an empire. This painting is separated into five stages: The Savage State, The Pastoral State, The Consummation of Empire, Destruction, and Desolation. These canvases portray the relationship between man and nature. Cole believed that human empires and civilizations were not permanent. Throughout history, empires have risen and fallen. He is trying to say that man can dominate and create a civilization, but he will soon return to destruction and failure. In this scenery, Cole painted each picture in the same location, but used different seasons, time, and weather conditions to come up with an appropriate mood for each of his paintings. The message Cole gives out for this painting is that nature has the supreme control, and no matter what man does, his actions cannot stop anything. In his first canvas, The Savage State, a bay with grassy green land is seen on the near side. On the far side there is smoke rising from the colony of teepees and a noticeable mountain. The atmosphere of the painting seems dark and untamed. Broken trees, thick underbrush, and a hunter trying to kill a deer can be seen in the foreground. From a far distance one can see the fire and gathering of the savages. The hunters are perceived as wild because they are running near a stream with their weapons, such as bows and spears and are ready to attack for food. The dark gray clouds in this painting hover about the mountain, while the water remains to show its roughness by crashing against the shore. This work of art represents the Primitive state of the natural world in the presence of man. Thomas Cole writes in his prose description of this stage, The Empire is asserted, although to a limited degree, over sea, land, and the animal kingdom qtd. in Parry156. In his second section, called The Pastoral State, the area is the same, but the perspective of the painting has slightly changed. Unlike the first stage with its broken trees, this stage is tamed and ordered. There are beautiful green grass fields in the scene, which may show that men have tamed the area in order to suit themselves. This painting shows several people being busy in their daily lives and some even relaxing. For example, shepherds can be seen as well as thinkers, imperial soldiers, and women working on chores at the stream with their children. The animals are being used for agriculture work and some are grazing. More houses and different sorts of building styles can be seen compared to the first stage painting. In this painting, the mood appears to be calm and pleasant just like the way the people are enjoying themselves. Overall, this image represents a state in which man has changed nature to suit himself by taming the ones that are barbaric and being more civilized about the essential quality of nature. The third portion of this painting is The Consummation of Empire. There are great advances in this painting than the first two. Roads and other structures have been built. The water is calm, there are a few clouds, and two columns can be seen marking the entrance to the bay. A lot more people are present in this setting than the previous stages. There are crowds of people seen walking on luxurious walkways, boats, and the buildings. .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db , .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db .postImageUrl , .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db , .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db:hover , .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db:visited , .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db:active { border:0!important; } .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db:active , .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u22f8aabcd170a4043848a4fe333331db:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: A Significant Event That Changed My Life EssayThe environment in this painting shows human beings as being prosperous and abundant. They have dominated nature by changing the natural world to fit them. The fourth part of the series is Destruction. In this scene, warriors are attacking the community and nothing can be seen but massacres and destruction. Fighting is going on everywhere while the dead and the dying lay around the walkways and near the buildings. The columns that were seen in the third stage by the bay have been broken and so have some of the houses. The sea is not calm and the clouds appear smoky and thick. The main purpose of this canvas is to indicate that human empires do not last, and at some point they may face destruction. The final part of this painting is Desolation. Unlike all the other paintings, this one takes place at night. The night is calm with the glistening moon reflecting in the bay and a few clouds strung out in the night sky. No humans are present in this setting, but by viewing the painting one can see evidence of human existence. Broken pillars and ruined structures line the coast while they are being overgrown by mosses and plants. The area is quite wild due to the awkward growing of plants everything. The mountain still stands in its place, but alone without any human presence. The sea shines with peacefulness. On the far side two deer can been perceived drinking water. The point of this portrait is to let the viewer know that nature has reclaimed the land. The deer have returned and so have the plants and trees, but the people have not. The marks of the human beings have become part of the natural world. Cole had many views about nature, human life and mortality. He felt that the nation had a wild beauty. Cole said in one of his articles, To walk with nature as a poet is the necessary condition of a perfect artist. He illustrated the American landscape with a new vision, but at the same time he did not forget to paint pictures that portray allegorical and religious subjects. He believed that as men live and die so do plants and animals. Cole used eroded mountains and dried up rivers to symbolize the cycles of nature as being compared with humans. What he meant by this was that ma n dies as he ages and nature also looses its agility. Sometimes Coles art works represent that as the early settlement of America is passing by, a new one is taking its place.

A Dolls House - 1973 Production with Claire Bloom
A Doll's House - 1973 Production with Claire Bloom The Bottom Line This treatment of Henrik Ibsens play, A Dollsà House, by director Patrick Garland and actors Claire Bloom and Anthony Hopkins, is especially strong. Garland manages to transcend the plot contrivances which I found, on reading Henrik Ibsens play, to make the story almost unbelievable, and instead, create characters and a story that seem real. A surprisingly hopeful film to enjoy for itself, this would also make an interesting film to use in high school, college, or adult classes to explore issues of gender roles and expectations. Pros both Claire Bloom and Anthony Hopkins create sympathetic charactersdepicts woman on a pedestal in its positives and negativesemotional depth of Noras transformation and her husbands reaction ring truefictionalized and historical settings may make discussion of feminist issues feel safer to somemakes a somewhat-contrived plot seem believable Cons some plot coincidences a bit too contrivedhistorical and fictional settings may, for some, make the feminist issue easy to dismissfor some women, that this is written by a man might be a negative Description Henrik Ibsens depiction of 19th century men and women in marriage and friendshipDepicts Nora Helmars attempt to find her identity, beyond the constricting pedestalAlso depicts her husband Torvald Helmers attempt to salvage his own identity at work and home1973 production directed by Patrick Garland, screenwriter Christopher HamptonClaire Bloom and Anthony Hopkins star as Nora and Torvald HelmerDenholm Elliott, Ralph Richardson, Edith Evans, and Helen Blatch play supporting roles Review - A Dolls House The basic plot is this: a woman of the 19th century, pampered first by her father and then by her husband, acts out of caring and that act then subjects her and her husband to blackmail, threatening their security and future. How Nora, her husband, and Noras friends attempt to deal with the threat depict different kinds of love. Some loves transform people and bring out their best and the best in their loved ones others make the lover and loved one smaller. I remember the first time I read Henrik Ibsens play, A Dolls House, in the late 1960s, just when the feminist movement was rediscovering past literary treatments of gender roles. Betty Friedans more straightforward treatment of the ultimately-unsatisfying constrictions of womens traditional role seemed to ring more true. In reading A Dolls House then, I was disturbed by what I read as contrived characters Nora always seemed quite the silly doll, even after her transformation. And her husband! What a shallow man! He didnt evoke the least bit of sympathy in me. But Claire Bloom and Anthony Hopkins, in director Patrick Garlands 1973 treatment, show how good acting and direction can add to a play what a dry reading cannot.

Global Distribution Of Material Goods And Products Essay
Global Distribution Of Material Goods And Products - Essay Example An organization I worked for several years ago left me with many fond memories. I made many lifelong friends and enjoyed a pleasant environment. I later realized that the upper management cared little about the low wages employees earned I earned one raise of ten cents per hour in nearly four years, though I quickly became one of the top employees. I trained new employees and befriended everyone. I went the extra mile to show residents that I cared. My immediate floor nursing supervisors became my mentors. Co-workers in the same position as I were young females in their early 20s. We all worked hard with as much skill and caring as possible. Many of us grew close very quickly. We helped each other, supported each other during times of personal crisis and socialized together away from work. We found common ground and formed a culture of camaraderie, caring and moral support. Two groups of subcultures arose from this work situation. The subculture of nursing supervisors who were beginn ing their professional careers and families simultaneously formed one. Those of us who were single, young adults with a strong work ethic and sense of caring for others made up the other subculture. Upper management symbolically stated they did not belong to the general workforce, by locking themselves in their offices. Decisions were made by a couple hired as administrator and maintenance worker. The couple socialized with all staff and attended many functions outside of work. They became involved in each group dynamic as much as possible and were respected by everyone.
